Guatemala is a country of youth; 70% of its population is less than thirty years old The capital city, Guatemala, is located in the geographical heart of the country and is home to an average of 4.5 million inhabitants.

The country’s labor force, measured in terms of the Economically Active Population –EAP-- represents approximately 4.1 million inhabitants, equal to 34% of the total population. Its 2.6% population growth and the integration of youths in the labor force (23% is under 25 years old) generates an annual labor force growth rate of 4%.
