FREE TRADE ZONES AND INDUSTRIAL PARKS |
Guatemala has 18 active free trade zones and 7 more will start operations soon, in addition to an important number of industrial parks which provide competitive advantages to the investors. As of October 2008, 218 users were present in the free trade zones: 161 commercial, 34 industrial and 19 services, generating more than 450 jobs and representing US$2 million of investments (2008 ).
These sites grant investors a vantage point location in the country and the region, providing the necessary services for competitive operations, such as electrical power, water, telecommunications, custom-tailored industrial facilities, transportation, maintenance, security and procedure consultancy services, at very competitive costs.
