During the last few years, thanks to the improvements in the climate sector and free trade agreements signed with several coutries, Guatemala has attracted investments and generated new jobs in different economic sectors such as Agroindustry, Tourism, Manufacture, Call Centers & BPO, Natural Resources, Energy and Mines, among others.

Preliminary information for 2009 indicate that Foreign Direct Investment to Guatemala will be US$ 559.3 million, including new companies that came and established companies expanding their operations.
